STV NewsA mum from Glasgow who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in January after a headache has died, her family have announced.
Kim Borthwick was diagnosed with terminal glioblastoma in January, just days after spending Christmas with her husband Ross and twins Max and Freddie.
The 36-year-old documented her journey on Instagram and in July, told STV News she had “made peace” with her terminal diagnosis.
STV NewsShe said: “I’ve had a good 35 years and feel so fortunate that I’ve been able to make my mark in terms of having my children, because a lot of people don’t get that far.”
On Tuesday, just eight months after her diagnosis, her family announced Kim’s death on social media.
They said the young mum was brave to the end, and was surrounded by loved ones.
“On behalf of Kim’s family it is with a heavy heart that we share of her passing,” the post read.
“Kim slipped away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
“She was her brave, fighting self right to the very end.
“Kim meant so much to so many people and she will be forever missed.
“We wish to thank you all for the incredible support you’ve shown over the past eight months. It meant the world to Kim, and to us”.
