A man snared with a memory card containing indecent images of babies hidden in a bible was jailed on Thursday for 30 months.
James McBride or Windsor, 36, was caught with the sick haul at his home in Glasgow’s Garthamlock on July 16, 2022.
The city’s Sheriff Court heard that police had attended the property for a separate matter when he was arrested.
A search warrant for the property was later granted.
McBride was interviewed where he told officers that there were several electronic devices and SD cards there.
Prosecutor Jessica McGowan said: “His home address was searched and an SD card was recovered from within pages of a Bible on the TV unit.
“This was not one of the devices mentioned by McBride during the interview.
“A preliminary exam of the SD card showed there were images of child sexual exploitation and abuse present.”
A later report on the card stated there were 49 still and moving images on it.
Ms McGowan added: “The images involve both boys and girls with ages ranging from young babies of only a few months old to children around the age of 12.
“He was asked about the SD card found in the Bible and he stated that he found the book on a bus and never opened or read it.”
McBride denied knowledge of the contents of the SD card before proclaiming: “I’m innocent of all of this.”
McBride pled guilty to possession of indecent photographs of children.
Sheriff Shona Gilroy put McBride on the sex offenders register for an indefinite period as well as the prison sentence.
