The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Glasgow has been closed after a man fell from a height off a balcony.
The museum and art gallery on Royal Exchange Square confirmed it was closed after the incident involving a member of the public around 12.30pm.
The man’s condition is currently unknown.
Police Scotland confirmed there was “no wider threat to the public”.
The gallery is due to reopen on Thursday at 10am as normal.
A post from the GoMA on X read: “The Gallery of Modern Art has closed early today after a member of the public fell from a balcony.
“Emergency services are in attendance.
“The building will reopen as normal tomorrow, Thursday, September 12 at 10am.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Emergency services are in attendance at Royal Exchange Square after reports a man had fallen from height inside an art gallery.
“Police were notified 12.30pm on Wednesday, September 11 2024.
“Enquiries are ongoing. Officers remain at the scene.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 12.12pm to attend an incident on Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow.
“We dispatched one ambulance, one paramedic response unit (PRU), and one trauma team to the scene.”
