Police are investigating after a fire broke out at a building in Glasgow on Saturday afternoon.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were contacted around 5pm on Saturday following reports of a fire in the Belsyde Avenue and Boon Drive area of Drumchapel.

Four appliances were sent to the scene, with many firefighters continuing to battle the blaze as of 9pm on Saturday evening. 

Police have now said that the fire is being treated as unexplained, and enquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the blaze.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a fire at a building on Belsyde Avenue in Glasgow around 5.30pm on Saturday, 2 September.

“Officers attended to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“The fire is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
