A Glasgow-bound flight was diverted to Amsterdam on Wednesday night after a passenger suffered a medical emergency on board.
The incident took place around four hours into a journey from Larnaca in Cyprus.
A general emergency was declared by the captain, who requested an immediate landing through air traffic control.
The Airbus A320 touched down at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol 22 minutes later.
The flight was delayed overnight as a result, and EasyJet apologised to customers for “limited availability” of hotel accommodation.
An EasyJet spokesperson said: “Flight EZY3170 from Larnaca to Glasgow on October 6 was required to divert to Amsterdam due to a customer requiring urgent medical assistance, which led to the crew reaching their safety regulated operating hours and so the flight was delayed overnight in Amsterdam.
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority, and we did all we could to support them.
“While we always work to source hotel accommodation, meals and transport where required, as there was very limited availability we advised any customers who sourced their own that they would be reimbursed.
“While this was outside of our control, we are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.”
