Plans for a new development that aims to transform a “derelict” site in Glasgow have been given the go-ahead.

Dandara Living, the developer of the project, has been granted planning permission by Glasgow City Council to develop City Wharf.

Located in Anderston Quay, City Wharf is a development of apartments and residential amenities, student accommodation and commercial units.

The development will be built on a “derelict” site overlooking the Kingston Bridge.

It is set to feature nearly 500 one, two and three bedroom energy efficient homes for rent and 490 student bed spaces alongside units for commercial use.

Designed by architects, Manson, the ground and first floors will include amenities such as a cycle hub, large open plan gym, residents lounge, and co-working spaces with views onto the River Clyde.

The development will also feature a new urban park for use by residents and the wider local community, as well as private courtyard spaces and recreational areas available to residents.

Rachel Allwood, planning director of Dandara Living said, “We’re delighted City Wharf has been given the green light.

“It will play a key role in the significant transformation this part of the city is undergoing and help to bring more people into the area extending the vibrancy of the Clyde waterfront.”
