A Glasgow councillor accidentally kept his camera on while on the toilet during a council meeting.
Hanif Raja left his camera on during a planning meeting earlier this week as he visited the restroom.
The footage showed the Labour representative sitting down on the toilet before a colleague alerted him to the fact that his camera was still on.
Glasgow City Council confirmed the meeting has been removed from its website, and will be reuploaded, but without the footage of councillor Raja.
The clip circulated on social media following the mishap.
Councillor Raja was first elected to represent Pollokshields in 2012 and has remained in the position for more than a decade.
A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council said: “We have temporarily taken the webcast recording offline this morning.
“It will be edited, without removing any of the discussion, and reuploaded.”
Speaking to the Local Democracy Reporting Service on Wednesday, Bailie Raja said the incident happened “by mistake”.
“I do apologise,” he added. “It happened, the button was pressed, and I didn’t notice.
“I’m diabetic. I need to go to the toilet every hour or so. I take a comfort break every time.
“You don’t sleep at night, you have got to wake up three or four times. That was the reason.”
