All trains travelling via Glasgow Central low-level have been hit by cancellations due to a signalling fault.

The issue was detected between Rutherglen and Anderston on Tuesday afternoon.

Services between Rutherglen and Anderston on the Argyle Line have been affected.

Following hours of cancellations, Network Rail has identified cable damage near Finnieston and is working on a plan to repair it.

Staff are working to introduce a half-hourly service between Hyndland and Larkhall in the meantime.

The cancellation of services comes as athletes descend on Glasgow ahead of the Commonwealth Games, which open on Thursday.

Participants and volunteers have descended on the Finnieston and OVO Hydro area ahead of the official launch.
