A café in Glasgow has been forced to close after being damaged by a fire for the second time in less than a year.
Flames were seen bursting from the roof of Hugs and Mugs on Pollokshaws Road as fire crews battled the blaze around 11.45pm on Wednesday.
Three fire engines were sent to the scene as well as a height appliance.
Pictures shared with STV News show firefighters attempting to extinguish the flames of the well-developed blaze.
Fire crews have since left the scene after ensuring the building was safe. No injuries were reported.
Police are now treating the blaze as deliberate.
It is the second time the café has been damaged by fire in recent months after being forced to close in December last year due to another blaze.
The owners took to social media on Thursday to inform customers they would be closed until further notice.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.45pm on Wednesday, September 5, of a fire within a coffee shop on Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire engines and a height appliance to the scene, where crews worked to extinguish the fire.
“There were no casualties, and firefighters have now left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.45pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, we were called to a report of a fire at a business premises on Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow.
“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 4310 of Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Alternatively you can speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
