Police believe a young Vietnamese schoolgirl found wandering along a Scots street late at night may be the victim of human trafficking.
The 15-year-old was discovered in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, last week and has since been taken into the care of “appropriate agencies”.
An investigation has been launched – with one line of inquiry she was trafficked into the country.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30pm on Wednesday, January 15, officers found a 15-year-old Vietnamese girl walking along Princes Street in Helensburgh.
“She is now in the care of appropriate agencies.
“No-one has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
