Kingston Bridge bursting with colour as new murals painted after Batman filming

Artworks had been painted over in preparation for The Batman: Part II filming earlier this year

An area beneath the M8 in Glasgow is once more awash with colour after artists were invited to create new murals on concrete pillars that had been covered up for Batman filming.

The pillars lining the area between North Street and Nelson Street under the Kingston Bridge were covered in massive murals painted by artists from around the world.

However, in preparation for filming The Batman: Part II, several murals were covered with grey paint and dressed to mimic gritty Gotham City.

Now that filming has wrapped, 32 artists have been invited to show off their creativity with new artworks as part of Under the Bridge arts project.

The organiser said: “Under the Bridge is a public art project delivered by SWG3 and is part of their Yardworks GRID project.

“Thirty two artists have worked over the last four weeks to once again transform the pillars of the Kingston Bridge into a diverse and vibrant celebration of local and international talent.”
