Police are appealing for information after the front door of a property in Cumnock was set alight.
Fire crews were called to the Keir Hardie Hill area around 5am on Sunday after the blaze was deliberately set.
No injuries were reported, and the incident is being investigated.
Detective constable Fraser Murray said: “The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time to get in touch.
“Please also check any private CCTV or dash-cam footage you might have to see if anything has been captured that could assist with our investigation.”
