Fresh appeal to trace Stirling man missing for over a year

A fresh appeal has been launched to trace a man missing from Stirling on what would be his 24th birthday.

Yuxin Cao was last seen between the hours of 7pm and 9pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in the top car park at Dumyat Hill near Stirling.

He is described as 5ft 8ins and of medium build with short black hair.

When last seen he was wearing dark clothing, including a hooded top.

Inspector Emma Patrick said: “Since Yuxin was reported missing over one year ago, extensive enquiries and rigorous searches have been carried out to trace him.

“Officers have been supported by specialist resources including the air support unit, police dogs, the dive and marine unit and Ochil mountain rescue team.

“Despite this, there have been no further sightings of Yuxin since Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

“This has been incredibly difficult for Yuxin’s family and we will continue to provide them with support. We remain committed to finding Yuxin and we would ask anyone who remembers seeing him in the area of Dumyat Hill on the day he went missing, or who has seen him since then, to please contact us. Even the smallest piece of information could be significant.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1260 of September 3, 2025.
