Four women have been arrested a supermarket in Glasgow city centre was covered in red paint.
Police were called to Sainsbury’s on Buchanan Street at around 8.20am on Thursday after receiving reports of vandalism.
Activists from This is Rigged targeted the store spraying it with red paint and pasted a picture of the company’s CEO with the words: “Sainsbury’s is Rigged.”
Officers confirmed that four women had been arrested in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20am on Thursday, November 16 2023, police were called to a report of a staged protest and vandalism outside a supermarket on Buchanan Street, Glasgow.
“Four women have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
