A road has reopened 19 hours after reports of a chemical leak that left four people requiring treatment.
A large emergency service response was called to a commercial premises on Cameron Street in Coatbridge at around 12.15pm following a report of a chemical leak.
Hazmat teams were called to the scene alongside firefighters and police. Officers urged the public to avoid the area.
Burnbank Street at Coltswood Road, Cromlet Drive and Northburn Industrial Estate was closed with local homes also evacuated as a precaution.
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that a special operations team treated four patients at the scene.
A spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12.37pm today to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at an incident on Cameron Street in Coatbridge.
“We dispatched one ambulance and our special operations team to the scene. We treated four patients at the scene.”
Police confirmed at 7.45am on Wednesday that the road had reopened and there were no reports of any injuries.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Cameron Street in Coatbridge has reopened following a report of a chemical leak yesterday. No-one was injured in the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
