Four taken to hospital with facial injuries after disturbance

Four people were taken to hospital with facial injuries after a disturbance in South Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called after an incident on Avon Street, Hamilton, around 6.20pm on Saturday.

A 32-year-old woman was taken to Hairmyres Hospital, with a laceration to her face, while a 30-year-old man and two women, aged 34 and 24, were taken to Wishaw General Hospital with facial injuries.

Police said five people had been involved in the disturbance and are trying to locate a woman who ran off when they arrived.

A 34-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. She is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

A 30-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were also arrested but neither of them have been charged.

Enquiries are ongoing.
