Four people have been taken to hospital after an ambulance transporting a patient crashed in Glasgow.

The collision occurred on Balmore Road in the city shortly before 9pm on Tuesday evening.

A patient on board the emergency vehicle which crashed was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary via a second ambulance.

Two Scottish Ambulance Service staff members were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A student paramedic was also transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “One of our ambulances which was en-route to hospital was involved in a road traffic collision on Balmore Road, Glasgow at 8.58pm on Tuesday evening.

“The patient on board was transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary by another ambulance.

“Two staff members were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, and a student paramedic was transported to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
