Four men arrested in police house raid over 'drugs activity'

Police Scotland said it launched a 'pre-planned' operation in Argyll and Bute.

Four men have been arrested following a house raid aimed at tackling drug activity in Argyll and Bute.

Police Scotland said it launched a “pre-planned” operation at an address in Dixon Avenue in Kirn, Dunoon as well as another property on Massan View in Sandbank on Tuesday.

Three men aged 27, 33 and 42 were arrested and charged in connection with the raid and “will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal”.

A fourth man, aged 44, was arrested over an outstanding warrant and will also be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective sergeant Gordon McCready said: “Drugs can cause real harm and misery to people and their families and this operation sends a clear message that this criminality will not be tolerated in our community.

“Our officers work hard every day to disrupt the sale and distribution of these illegal substances and are determined to continue their efforts to protect members of the public.

“Information from the local community is vital to our work and we would urge anyone with concerns about drugs activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
