Four buildings “wilfully” set on fire at derelict housing estate in Paisley are the subject of a police appeal for CCTV footage.

Officers said a quartet of adjacent buildings were set on fire around 11.05pm on Tannahill Road in Ferguslie Park on Monday, July 29.

Police are searching for anyone with private CCTV of the area at the time to come forward.

Demolition work has begun on 51 blocks of derelict houses in the area that have become a target for flytipping and fireraising.

Inspector Kevin Craig said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information to contact police.

“We also ask anyone who may have private CCTV of the area at the time to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 4331 of July 29, 2024.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
