Four men have been arrested after a man was left in hospital following an attack on a road in Ayr.
Police were called to the Main Road area of the town at around 9.35am on Saturday after recieving reports of a “serious” assault.
A 52-year-old man was taken to hospital. His current condition is unknown.
Officers have confirmed that four men, aged 51, 50, 49 and 44, have since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
They are due to appear at Ayr Sheriff court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a serious assault in the Main Road area of Ayr around 9.35am on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
“A 52-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
“Four men, aged 51, 50, 49 and 44, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They are due to appear at Ayr Sheriff court on Monday, January 23, 2023.”
