A former Scotland international women’s footballer is accused of having £47,000 of criminal cash in her bank account.

Suzanne Mulvey, 40, allegedly possessed money belonging to an elderly woman between November 10 and 17 2021.

The ex-Celtic, Rangers and Glasgow City striker is stated to have had the funds transferred into her account.

Court papers go on to say Mulvey, of the city’s Bridgeton, made multiple bank transfers, withdrawals and purchases from her account with the money.

Co-accused Calum Walker, 34, faces a separate charge of possessing a 24-carat gold bar which weighed 100 grams.

The charge says Walker, of Cambuslang, collected the gold bar after it was purchased with the proceeds of fraud on November 15, 2021.

Mulvey pleaded not guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to possession of £47,200 of criminal property.

Walker did not appear in the dock for the hearing.

His lawyer, Neal McShane, told the court that his client was unwell.

Michael Gallen, defending Mulvey, meantime stated that defence investigations were progressing and would be finalised shortly.

A trial was set by Sheriff Joan Kerr for November this year.
