Former Rangers star Nacho Novo’s scheduled fight with Scottish ‘TikToker’ Caz Milligan has been called off.
The influencer was due to fight the former Ibrox forward at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday, August 10 but has confirmed to his 36,000 followers on Instagram that the bout is off.
Milligan said in a video posted to social media: “The main reason is that I bit off more than I can chew.
“I’ll take accountability on that. I had a successful first event in a hotel and I got the contacts to the Hydro and I got the contacts with Novo and I just got too excited and we just went too big too early.
“I’m taking everything on the chin, It’s upsetting, it’s emotional and it’s things I’ve not dealt with before.”
The OVO Hydro confirmed the event is cancelled and removed it from listing on its website.
Milligan claimed anyone who bought tickets will be contacted by Ticketmaster about refunds.
In the promotional video for the event, Novo revealed he wanted to push himself after battling health problems, including a heart attack back in 2018.
The former striker said: “Whatever happens in life you can push yourself try whatever you want to do.”
Milligan said he was unaware of the 45-year-old’s health condition when the event was agreed.
He added: “I never knew about his heart conditions or his heart attack before signing the contracts.
“I should have done my research before going ahead with Nacho Novo.
“I got too excited, I saw all these opportunities and everything coming at me and I went for it.”
