A former Glasgow Conservative councillor has been accused of stalking a woman.
Phillip Charles, 52, allegedly kept tabs on the woman between October 2020 and April 2025.
Charles – who represented Glasgow’s Baillieston ward between 2017 and 2022 – is accused of having engaged in a course of conduct which caused her fear or alarm.
The charge states that he repeatedly contacted the woman and asked her to separate from her husband.
Charles, of the city’s Govan, is claimed to have repeatedly contacted her friend in an attempt to speak to the woman.
Court papers go on to say Charles attempted to contact the woman and made a threatening remark.
He is further alleged to have sent the woman a gift and a card, repeatedly contacted her place of work, as well as her colleagues.
It is alleged that Charles did this to befriend them in order to make enquiries about her.
Charles is claimed to have sent her bottles of wine and uploaded social media posts which made comment about her.
The charge goes on to say Charles repeatedly uploaded photos of her on social media and attended at her home to try and trace her.
Another allegation says Charles left a box containing gifts for her.
Charles is claimed to have contacted the woman by email as well as on her mobile phone and voicemail messages.
He is further alleged to have contacted the woman’s husband and posted comments on Facebook about Charles’ own relationship with his wife.
A further claim is that Charles obtained the woman’s new home address by unknown means and sent her an Amazon parcel.
Charles is also alleged to have sent her an easter egg on Deliveroo.
He is also accused of repeatedly refusing to stop contacting her and sending her a card to her new address.
Michael Stewart, defending, told the court that his client pled not guilty to the single charge of stalking his “partner or ex-partner”.
Prosecutor Kirsty Stewart requested an adjournment because ten screenshots had not been disclosed to the defence.
The trial was adjourned until March, with a hearing taking place next month in which Charles’ attendance is excused.
