A police forensic team has been seen entering a three-storey building in North Lanarkshire after a flat fire.
Emergency services were called to Bridgeburn Drive in Moodiesburn at around 8.49pm on Tuesday.
The fire took hold of a ground-floor property within a three-storey block. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent four engines to the scene and extinguished the flames.
No one was injured during the incident. Crews left the area after ensuring the area was safe.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.49pm on Tuesday, July 7, to reports of a dwelling fire at Bridgeburn Drive, Moodiesburn.
“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a ground floor flat within a three-storey block of flats.
“There were no reported casualties, and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
Detectives are treating the incident as wilful.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.50pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, we were called to a report of a fire at a property on Bridgeburn Drive, Moodiesburn.
“Officers attended to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the fire was extinguished. There were no reported injuries.
“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
