A flock of sheep have been spotted roaming around Greenock after escaping from a farm.

The animals were pictured enjoying a day out unbeknownst to their owner on Friday morning.

A stunned Greenock resident shared a picture of the flock grazing in the Braeside area.

The picture, shared to Inverclyde Road Watch, shows at least 17 sheep on a grass verge near some football goalposts.

Inverclyde Council confirmed the farmer was contacted in connection with the loose flock.

An Inverclyde Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of sheep loose in the Braeside area of Greenock and we have made contact with the farmer to retrieve the flock.”
