Arrests have been made following an incident at Royal Exchange Square on Thursday evening.

Five teenagers have been charged after a disturbance involving “weapons” took place in a Glasgow city centre square.

Police said the incident broke out on Royal Exchange Square on Thursday at around 9.55pm.

Officers attended the scene and three 18-year-old men, a 17-year-old man and a 15-year-old male youth were arrested and charged in connection with various road traffic and disorder offences, including possession of offensive weapons.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and the police have called for anyone with information into the incident to come forward.

Inspector Ryan Curran said: “Anyone with information or potential footage of this incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 3793 of June 30.”
