Five cyclists have been taken to hospital following a collision with a car on a busy North Lanarkshire road.
Emergency services attended the scene on Townhead Road in Coatbridge at around 9.20am on Saturday March 7.
The road was taped off for several hours before reopening around 2pm.
Police say the cyclists’ injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.20am on Saturday, 7 March, 2026, we were called to Townhead Road, Coatbridge after a report of a crash involving a car and five cyclists.
“The five cyclists were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The road was closed to allow emergency services access.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
