The transformation of one of Glasgow’s most recognisable landmarks, the former Victoria Infirmary Nightingale buildings, has been completed.
The trio of sandstone buildings on Battlefield Road in the city’s Southside have been transformed into 56 apartments known as The Nightingale Collection.
The first phase of apartments is due to go on sale on Friday, with prices starting from £210,000.
Each apartment in The Nightingale Collection has been individually designed, featuring high ceilings of up to 4.3 metres and reinstated period detailing.
Some of the apartments also feature reinstated balconies and terraces, a nod to the site’s former hospital heritage.
Residents will benefit from private off-street parking, lift access, and dedicated EV charging points.
Although the original Nightingale buildings are not listed, Beech Grove Homes said it has approached the restoration with great care.
Isabella Ferguson, director of sales & marketing at Beech Grove Homes, said: “This is a truly rare opportunity to own a piece of Glasgow’s living history.
“The Nightingale buildings aren’t in fact listed, and we know many developers had a different vision for the site that didn’t include these beautiful buildings, but we have treated them as such and have painstakingly brought them back from ruin. They are now arguably amongst the most unique and coveted properties in the city.”
Ferguson added that while the façades have been preserved, the interiors offer a completely new experience.
“Each apartment is completely unique, designed to combine heritage and character with uncompromising modern luxury,” she said.
“From the reinstated balconies and eye-catching cupolas to the soaring ceilings and light-filled spaces, no two homes are the same, and all are something Glasgow has never seen before.”
