Fireworks were thrown at a house in Helensburgh after a gathering descended into disorder.
Police were called to a large group gathering at a property on Buchanan Road from 7.30pm on Monday.
Officers attended and the crowd initially were peaceful, but the gathering descended into disorder.
Fireworks were thrown at a property and some of the attendees behaved in what police described as a “reckless” manner.
The crowd moved to the Johnson Court area of the town around 10.40pm before dispersing a short time later.
There were no arrests and no reports of any injuries.
Chief inspector James McArthur said the disorderly behaviour was “completely unacceptable”.
He said: “This incident continued until late at night, on a residential street and left members of our community frightened.
“Fireworks were thrown at a house that could have caused serious injuries to a member of the public.
“Anyone conducting themselves in a disorderly fashion or carrying out anti social behaviour will be dealt with with the full extent of powers available.”
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 1827 of April 28.
