Firefighters have pumped away millions of litres of floodwater surrounding a care home in North Ayrshire after responding to 700 calls during Storm Boelo.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) says crews attended 699 incidents across Scotland over the weekend during the second named storm of the season.
Of those incidents, 163 were weather-related, according to the SFRS.
The yellow and amber warnings from the storm battered the country with winds of up to 84mph at the weekend.
It brought down trees, damaged sea defences and sent debris flying.
There was widespread flooding and around 150,000 homes were left without power.
Fire crews across the weekend responded to multiple incidents involving road traffic collisions, fallen trees, damaged power cables, debris and unsafe structures.
In Saltcoats, crews have worked since Sunday night to pump millions of litres of floodwater away from a care home on Sidney Street.
Firefighters were alerted around 5.20pm to reports of floodwater approximately four feet in depth, and restrictions in accessing the premises.
A high-volume pump was mobilised to support the operation, and emergency services remain in attendance on Monday evening.
Police Scotland confirmed that everyone within the care home had been accounted for and that every effort is being made to ensure their safety.
Road closures were put in place on Sidney Street, Winton Circus, The Braes and Melbourne Road.
Deputy Assistant Chief Officer Ross Robison said: “Storm Boelo brought a challenging period for communities and our firefighters.
“I want to thank all our staff and partners who worked across Scotland to respond to incidents and support the wider operation.
“Their effort helped us meet demand while maintaining cover for other emergencies.”
