Six fire engines are on the scene of a “well-developed” building blaze in Newton Mearns.
Emergency services were called to Broomburn Drive around 10.34am on Friday following reports of a fire taking hold of a three-storey building after initially breaking out in a second-floor flat.
Pictures from the scene show flames and smoke bursting from the roof of the building.
It is unknown whether anyone has been injured.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.34am on Friday, July 18, to reports of a fire affecting a building on Broomburn Drive, Newton Mearns.
“Operations Control initially mobilised four appliances to the scene.
“Resources were increased by a further two appliances and specialist resources to a well developed fire affecting a second floor flat of a three-storey building.
“Crews remain at the scene.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.50am on Friday, July 18, 2025, we were called to a report of a fire at a building on Broomburn Road, Newton Mearns.
“Officers are in attendance to assist Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”
