Fire crews tackle building blaze in Cessnock as Paisley Road West closed to traffic

Fire crews are on the scene of a building fire in the Cessnock area, which has closed Paisley Road West to traffic.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) first received reports of a building fire at 5.45pm on Sunday, September 20.

Four fire appliances and a height vehicle have been dispatched to the scene between North Gower Street and Langshot Street.

A Glasgow City Council traffic bulleting has confirmed Paisley Road West has been closed, as a cordon has been placed across the road with police standing guard.

The bulletin read: “Due to an ongoing building fire Paisley Road West is currently closed from Langshot Street to North Gower Street. Local access may be granted from North Gower Street side of closure.

“Emergency Services are in attendance.

“Drivers are advised to seek an alternative route.”
