Emergency services raced to a North Lanarkshire train station on Wednesday evening after a fire broke out in a carriage.
Three fire appliances were dispatched to Motherwell station at around 9.45pm after the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received reports of flames on board.
Crews extinguished the blaze and left the scene once the area was made safe
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 9.45pm on Wednesday, September 4 to reports of a fire within a train carriage at Motherwell train station.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene.
“Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
British Transport Police has been contacted for comment.
