Emergency services are at the scene of a building fire that broke out in the early hours of Tuesday.

Police and fire crews were alerted to the commercial garage blaze at around 12.50am on Wellington Road in Bishopbriggs. The road was closed as efforts were made to extinguish flames.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched six appliances to the area and crews are still on the scene. No one was injured during the incident.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50am on Tuesday, April 8, we received a report of a fire at a premises on Wellington Road in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow.

“Officers attended to assist colleagues in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service who remain on the scene.

“There were no reported injuries and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 00.30am on Tuesday, April 8, to reports of a commercial garage well alight on Wellington Road, Bishopbriggs.

“Operations Control mobilised six fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene.

“There are no reported casualties.

“Crews remain in attendance.”
