Fifty-five people have now been arrested following Rangers title win celebrations at Glasgow’s George Square in May.

Two men, aged 48 and 57, are the latest to be charged over the incident that left 47 police officers injured.

One woman, who was at the Ibrox stadium gathering on the same day, has also been arrested.

Thousands of fans descended on Ibrox and the city centre on Saturday, May 15 to celebrate the club’s first top league title in ten years despite Covid restrictions still being in place.

As well as officers being injured, there were widespread reports of alleged racism, sectarianism, vandalism and general anti-social behaviour.

Police Scotland confirmed the two latest arrests on Friday.

A spokesperson said: “Two men, aged 57 and 48, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“They have been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
