Fifteen First Bus services in Glasgow were forced to make diversions on Wednesday morning after pranksters placed cones along the road.

First Glasgow tweeted that a number of services along Argyll Street were diverted via Jamaica Street, Clyde Street and Stockwell Street due to “crane works”.

But posting on X, formerly Twitter, the travel operator said it was a “false alarm”.

“Cones had been placed out by pranksters,” it said. “Services will resume normal route.”
