Family of man who failed to return home from walk 'increasingly concerned' 

Gareth Hiddleston, who is known to walk around the River Ayr area, hasn't been seen since Sunday morning.

Family ‘increasingly concerned’ after man fails to return home from walk in Ayrshire Police Scotland

The family of a man who failed to return home from a walk in Ayrshire are growing “increasingly concerned”.

Gareth Hiddleston has had no contact with his family after leaving for a walk and was last seen in Wilson Street, Ayr, at around 11.30am on Sunday.

The 43-year-old, who enjoys walking, is known to frequent the River Ayr up to Auchincruive.

Gareth is described as white, around 5ft 9in, of slim build with short, red/auburn hair.

When was last seen he was wearing black and green work trousers, a black hoodie and grey trainers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Gareth’s family are increasingly concerned given the passage of time that he has been missing. Gareth enjoys walking and is known to frequent the River Ayr up to Auchincruive.

“I would ask anyone who may have information in relation to the whereabouts of Gareth to contact police via 101 and quote incident no. 1762 of January 8, 2024.”
