Family ‘extremely upset’ as search continues for woman missing from Isle of Mull on her birthdayPolice Scotland

The family of a woman missing from the Isle of Mull for more than two weeks are “extremely upset” and concerned for her welfare, amid a renewed appeal for information on her 36th birthday.

Claire Halliday was last seen in the Fionnphort area on January 7 and has not been heard from since.

Police dogs, the marine unit and search helicopters have all joined the search for Claire, who turns 36 on Thursday.

She is described as 5ft 4ins and of slim build with shoulder-length, brown hair. When last seen, she was wearing a white jacket with a cream-coloured hood or hat and white trousers.

Inspector Matthew Shaw said: “Today is Claire’s 36th birthday and there is nothing more we want than for her to be found and reunited with family.

“Unfortunately, despite significant enquiries and extensive searches, she has not been seen or heard from since she was last seen in the Fionnphort area on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

“Her family is understandably extremely upset about her being missing and not knowing where she is.

“I would again urge anyone who was been in the local area or anyone who has any information, no matter how small it may seem, to please get in touch with us.”

Please contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 1999 of January 9, 2025.
