The family of a man found dead in a South Lanarkshire flat said they are “completey devastated” by their loss.
Richard Marshall, from Blantyre, was found dead in a flat on Camelon Crescent in the town after reports of a disturbance at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, March 31.
The 33-year-old’s death is being treated as murder.
Mr Marshall’s family have asked for privacy and issued a statement that said: “We are completely devastated by the loss of Richard who was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and good friend. He will be cherished in our hearts forever.”
A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with Mr Marshall’s death and was due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Saturday, April 3.
Detectives continue to investigate the case to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
Detective inspector Frank Travers, from the Major Investigations Team, said: “Our thoughts are with Richard’s family at this very difficult time and we are providing them with support.
“We continue to appeal for witnesses and information. Anyone, who has not already spoken to officers and who can help our investigation, is asked to please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 2154 of March 31, 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
