The family of a man who died in hospital after being hit by a car in Paisley have said his loss has been “devastating”.
Stephen Craig, from Coatbridge, was on Hawkhead Road at around 8.10am on Wednesday, September 18, when he and another man were struck by a car.
The 50-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died three days later.
The other man, aged 40, was also seriously injured. Police enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
Mr Craig’s family released a statement through Police Scotland: “Stephen was a devoted husband and father. His loss has been devastating for all who knew him.”
The road was closed for around eight hours for enquiries to be carried out.
Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “Our thoughts remain with Stephen’s family at this very difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances of the crash and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, and has yet to speak to officers, to please get in touch.”
