Police hunting for three suspects after safes stolen in housebreaking

The three suspects were described as wearing black tracksuits and hooded tops with their faces covered.

Police are appealing after a housebreaking in North Lanarkshire in which a number of items including two metal safes were stolen.

At around 7.15pm on Friday March 22, a property in the Cambourne Road area was broken into.

Enquiries have established there are three suspects, all described as wearing black tracksuits, hooded tops with their faces covered and wearing gloves.  

Detective constable David Forde, of Coatbridge CID, said: “This break-in occurred while the family were out and it has caused them considerable alarm and upset.

“It’s vital we trace the people responsible, and I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious or may have information that could assist with our enquiries to please get in touch.

“In addition, anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation is also asked to contact us.”

Officers can be contacted via 101, quoting reference 3295 of Friday, March 22, 2024.
