A missing woman who sparked a police search has been found “safe and well”.

Officers appealed for the public’s help to track down Karen Harland, 48, after she failed to return home on Friday.

Ms Harland, from East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, was last seen in the Clarkston area of Glasgow at around 11am that morning.

On Saturday, the force stated that her family was “growing increasingly concerned” and appealed for her to get in touch as soon as possible.

Shortly before 3pm, Police Scotland confirmed that she had been “traced safe and well”.

The spokesperson added: “Thanks to everyone who assisted with our earlier appeal.”
