UPDATE: Police Scotland say the bridge has now fully reopened to drivers following an earlier “incident”.
Police have confirmed the Erskine Bridge is closed in both directions due to an “incident”.
Officers said drivers are being advised to make alternative arrangements after the incident which took place after 7.40pm on Monday.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the bridge on the A898 was closed in both directions with emergency services on the scene.
A Police Scotland statement read: “The Erskine Bridge is closed in both directions and motorists are advised to make alternative arrangements.
“Emergency services are in attendance.”
A Traffic Scotland post read: “The A898 Erskine Bridge is currently closed in both directions due to a police incident.
“Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time.”
