Emergency response to ‘potentially hazardous material’ find SNS Group

The discovery of “potentially hazardous material” prompted a large emergency response at a property in North Lanarkshire on Friday.

Police, fire crews and forensic officers are currently in attendance after the material was found inside a property on Cumbernauld Road in Chryston.

There are no reported injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance at a property on Cumbernauld Road in Chryston following a report of potentially hazardous material.

“Cumbernauld Road is currently closed between Knowe Road and Lyndsaybeg Road as a precaution while police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance.

“Nobody has been injured and there is not considered to be any wider threat to the public.”
