An 84-year-old woman is being treated in hospital following crash on the A76 Kilmarnock Road in Ayrshire.

An 84-year-old woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a road crash in Ayrshire.

A Ford Fiesta and a Skoda Yeti crashed at the junction of an unclassified road just south of Holybush Farm on the A76 Kilmarnock road at Mauchline around 12pm on Friday.

An 84-year-old woman, a passenger in the Fiesta, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Crosshouse hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The driver of the Fiesta was also taken to hospital and released after treatment.

Road policing sergeant Stewart Taylor said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen anything to get in touch.

“In particular, anyone who may have dash-cam footage and saw either of the cars before the crash is asked to get in touch. Please call us on 101, quoting incident number 1360 of Friday, 18 September, 2020.”
