An elderly woman has died after being hit by a bus in Glasgow city centre.

Roseann McLaughlan was on foot on Killermont Street on Thursday at around 3.45pm when the incident took place.

Police said her next of kin had been informed as they appealed for anyone with any information or dash-cam footage to come forward.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Buchanan Bus Station following reports that a bus had struck a pensioner.

Ms McLaughlan was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in a serious condition but later died.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone with information, particularly dash-cam footage of the incident, is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 2232 of Thursday, 7 October 7, 2021.”
