Elderly people are being targeted with some “left in distress” after a number of men attempted to sell goods door-to-door in Argyll and Bute.
Police in Helensburgh said they received multiple reports of men appearing to target elderly residents on the evening of Thursday, August 15.
Officers said the behaviour of three men left “several people in distress” as they attempted to go door-to-door selling items.
One of the men is described as around 5’8” in height with a stocky build and a shaved head and was wearing a black t-shirt and shorts.
A second man is described as about 30 years old, about 5’10” in height with orange/brown hair and tattoos on his neck and wrists.
He was wearing a dark blue tracksuit.
A third man is described as around 40 years old, about 5’10” in height with a slim build and was wearing a white/grey top.
All the men are said to have been carrying large rucksacks or holdalls and using a burgundy coloured van.
A Police Scotland statement read: “We are appealing for anyone with information regarding these males or their vehicle to contact us.
“We are particular interested in anyone with CCTV footage of the males or their vehicle especially if it has the registration of the vehicle.
“If you can help, please contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident 2594 of August 15, 2024 or alternatively attend at Helensburgh Police Station and speak to our officers in person.”
