An elderly pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on Tuesday morning in Renfrewshire.
At around 8am, emergency services were called to a crash involving a blue Ford Focus and a pedestrian on Cambridge Road in Renfrew.
The pedestrian, an 81-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he later died from his injuries.
The road was closed for around six hours to allow collision investigation to be carried out.
Police are now appealing to anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage of the incident to come forward.
Road policing sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to contact us as your information could be vital.
“I would also ask anyone with any dash cam or CCTV footage that could help with our investigation to get in touch.”
