A 91-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car in Inverclyde.
He was hit by a white Ford Fiesta in Greenock just after 11am on Sunday morning.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on the town’s Union Street.
Emergency services attended and the 91-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he is still receiving treatment.
The driver of the car, an 80-year-old man, was uninjured and assisted police at the scene.
The road was closed until around 1.30pm.
Sergeant John Bradford, from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “We’re investigating the circumstances of this collision and would ask anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
“Anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage of the pedestrian or vehicle immediately prior to, or during the incident, is asked to provide this to officers to help our investigation.”
