Eight fire engines deployed to tackle blaze at derelict building

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to a fire at Bernard Terrace, Glasgow, at around 11.45pm on Friday.

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a derelict building in Glasgow.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent eight fire engines to the scene at Bernard Terrace, Glasgow, when the alarm was raised at 11.45pm on Friday.

Firefighters remained at the scene on Saturday morning and no casualties have been reported.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.45pm on Friday, April 23, to reports of a building fire at Bernard Terrace, Glasgow.

“Operatrions control mobilised 12 appliances including three height appliances to the scene where a fire is affecting a derelict building.

“There are no reports of casualties and crews remain in attendance.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “Officers attended reports of a fire at Queen Mary Street in Bridgeton at a derelict building around 11.50pm on Friday, April 22, 2022. 

“No-one was injured and enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.”
